Places like Arizona provide a number of business opportunities to individuals as a result of the vibrant economy that the state has. However, not everyone is jumping at these opportunities, especially those who are currently employed. This is because for employees who may wish to resign from their jobs to start their own business, most of the apprehension that they feel comes from the fact that when they do decide to leave the company, they would be left to themselves, without the benefits that employees enjoy. One of these benefits is having health insurance, which most companies provide for their employees. However, people who may wish to start their own business need not worry about not being covered by health insurance while they are in the process of setting up their business because health insurance companies now offer short-term health insurance policies.

Short-term health insurance policies

Basically, a short-term health insurance policy is a health insurance plan that is a low-cost alternative to full-benefit plans that can be considered adequate to cover any sudden illness or serious injury while you set up a business and apply for a full benefit health insurance. In other words, these kinds of health insurance policies are just enough to tide you over until you get on your feet with regard to your business and get a full-benefit health insurance plan. Most short-term insurance plans last between six to twelve months.

Advantages and disadvantages

One of the biggest advantages of getting a short-term health insurance plan is that these plans allow you to go to any doctor you choose. Other advantages include the fact that these health plans cover a wide range of therapies and procedures, and the premiums on them can be very low. However, there are also disadvantages in getting them, one of which is that there are quite a number of medical fields that it does not cover, such as preventive care. In addition to this, maternity treatment is also excluded from the treatments that a short-term insurance policy covers.

For people who may need an insurance policy that would tide them over while they set up their business and while they apply for a full benefit health insurance policy, getting a short-term insurance policy may be one of the most viable options they can take. This is because short-term health insurance policies provide an adequate amount of coverage, which can reduce the apprehension that people feel during the stressful time of getting their business up and running.

By: Eric Morris

The present day and of course the age is certainly the worst has witnessed when it comes to health insurance. There are many reasons by that time why we did not opted for health insurance, like not capable enough in affording it or my employer (company) we worked ignored health coverage. After experiencing all this in my own life, this taught me many things which I want to share now. This might help to others not to commit any wrong steps or decisions about health insurance like me.

Keeping the future needs of health one should have a proper insurance to face the circumstances in the older age or sudden ill health situations. True, paying premiums are expensive and one might tend to save it. Here the chances for not needing any health care are impossible. This is true if one working on himself and a self employed then it got chances that you might not had any health insurance. But be practical and realize the need of this and catch up something that you could afford. Here having something is better than nothing.

First of all here one should be occupied and earning. So get some work, a part time or a night shift, just have something rather than being idle and be affordable. When you started working, obviously employer will provide some health insurance coverage. Most of companies provide this coverage to part time employees too. Sometimes there will be associations particular for health insurance coverage related. Be a part in such associations. In this kind of associations a better coverage plan can be obtained at very little price. Here the secret is its volume; large members of association will be given cheaper pricing than an individual policy.

Here having something makes you confident and a brighter side for future can be seen through this. This got nothing to do with better coverage, having something is better when affordability matters for greater coverage policies. This helps in facing sudden and unavoidable situations in the matters of health. We never know what could happen all of sudden in any one’s life. A sudden costly surgery can be handled easily with the help of health policy in hand than being helpless.

At instances when one really not in a position to pay and have a health insurance, it’s better to put this before your doctor while you are on your yearly visit. Express everything frankly, sometimes they come as great help with their possible medication choices for your problem. I don’t say this is always possible, few might help and at the same time few doctors may ignore to help you. This is all chances not possibilities and do not have any guarantees that a help will come for sure.

I wish said things come as help to understand about few needs which are must and good for future. The things I shared are mine and few witnessed by me with my friends and family. Talking with people about this insurance is knowledge to be gained and astonishing experiences from others could bring major change in us about taking insurance.

By: Ramana Rolla

For many people, seeking health insurance is a daunting prospect with a number of companies to choose from each offering a range of policies which can be both complex and difficult to decipher. For this reason it is often wise to employ the services of a broker to match your needs to the right health insurance company and policy.

Having chosen a broker it is a simple matter of giving him your medical details, including details of such things as any pre-existing conditions from which you are suffering and medications you are currently taking, and a list of the things that would wish to see covered in your policy. The broker then looks at a variety of companies and different policies and comes back to you with his recommendations. Once you have had a chance to study these, and to ask any questions that you might have, the broker will then work with you to get your health insurance contract signed and your policy issued.

It is important to understand that a health insurance broker works independently and is not employed by any particular health insurance company. His job is to study the health insurance market and to acquaint himself with the full range of cover available, as well as with how each insurance company operates including such things as its reputation, the frequency with which it increases premiums and the manner in which it handles claims.

Although the broker is independent it is also important to understand that he makes his money by way of a commission each time a contract is completed and that his commission will vary from one insurance company to the next. You may well feel therefore that it is in his interest to recommend a policy to you which earns him the highest commission. If this is something that concerns you then you should discuss this with the broker. If he is a sound and reputable broker he will have no difficulty in discussing this openly with you.

Despite the fact that the broker will be earning commission from the sale of your policy, which effectively comes from your premiums, it does not necessarily follow that a policy purchased through a broker will be more expensive and you will usually find that the same policy purchased directly from the company will cost you exactly the same amount as money as you will end up paying in buying through a broker.

In addition, a broker will often be able to find you a deal which you are unlikely to uncover on your own simply as a result of his knowledge of the marketplace.

Surprisingly, perhaps because the rules on health insurance are constantly changing, health insurance brokers are fairly thin on the ground. In addition, most states require health insurance brokers to be licensed and the licensing requirements vary from state to state.

If you feel confident about seeking out your own health insurance policy and are happy that you can understand the technicalities of a health insurance contract and the details of the small print then all well and good. But, if this is not the case, then a health insurance broker could turn out to be your best friend.

By: Donald Saunders

Have you noticed all the different health insurance options floating around out there? PPO, HMO, and HSA, just to name a few. Have you ever wondered what they all do, how much you need, or better yet, what all the abbreviations stand for? Probably so! Well, here are some basic points to help you understand what types of insurance are best for you.

One great type of health insurance is the Health Savings Account (HSA). Some major points to know about HSAs are:

It is a major medical policy with a large deductible and a low premium. An excellent way to control your monthly premiums while saving for any future costs you may have. You can save up to about 70% on your premium as you are saving money that can be used tax-free on medical expenses. The amount saved in your HSA rolls over from year to year, allowing that savings to gain interest or investment earnings. You can take money out of this account tax- and penalty-free whenever needed for medical expenses. If it’s used for anything else, you pay taxes and a BIG penalty. This money must be used for medical, dental and vision care; however, dental and vision payments don’t count toward your deductible.
Source: Bankrate.com

By: Dave Ramsey

Much controversy exists over health insurance. Debate as to how a health insurance company can maintain its solvency against the cost of maintaining its clients’ health has given rise to conflict. The right to stay fit and healthy is one basic human right that cannot be altered in any way. The argument as to how health insurance companies take care of their own interests continues to remain hanging.

Owning a small business will likely open doors for only a small group of employees. Keeping the best and trusted employees happy requires more than paying them enough money for food and shelter. As an employer, you need to endow your employees with the necessary benefits to compensate for all their efforts so that they can enjoy the rights they have as laborers.

If you are, however, the type of employer who has never considered offering insurance, then, the concept of small group health insurance may be far beyond your imagination. Starting off with a relatively small business limits your capacity to handle financial burdens. Moreover, sponsoring a small group health insurance plan can be very expensive, especially if there are only a few employees under your care.

A small staff covered by small business group health insurance plan is likely to be charged a higher cost by the health care provider. So what can you do as the employer to help ease this situation? For humanitarian considerations, it will be very generous of you to provide your employees with appropriate health benefits. Sponsoring a small business group health insurance can be done in an affordable manner if you know the ins and outs of doing do.

Providing a brilliant healthcare package is likely to add to the appeal of the company and help the company to gain more talented applicants while keeping the experienced ones happy. Take time to browse the net for reasonable premiums of small business group health insurance plans. Remember, you can always save money while compensating your staff. It is just a matter of crossing bridges and making things happen.

By: Max Bellamy
